Stack Influence

The holidays are Amazon's most competitive stretch - ad costs surge, placements tighten, and only brands that break through early win lasting rank visibility.

Most sellers face the same issues:

  • PPC costs spike 30–50% in Q4
  • Rankings freeze on page 2

That's where Lenny & Larry's were stuck - until they used Stack Influence. We activated 1,560 influencers who each:

  1. Bought the product on Amazon (a verified purchase)
  2. Shared honestly on social media
  3. Left organic UGC that the brand could repurpose

The result? 11× sales, 525 reviews, 2.3M impressions - momentum ads can't buy. 👀⭐🚀

Get ahead of Q4 competition. Outrank your category before Black Friday hits.

BEST From Me

Look, it's the official start of Amazon's Black Friday event.

I know you're busy. So am I.

As such, I'm keeping this BEST From Me section briefly this week, and following James Clear's fantastic 3-2-1 format.

Enjoy!

3 Tools I'm Tinkering With

  • ASINSIGHT -- This is easily the best, and most under-discussed, keyword research and rank tracking tool on the market. It was developed by a BIG BRAIN team over in China, and is starting to get widespread use in Chinese seller circles (so, you know its powerful). We're using ASINSIGHT heavily in my agency right now. Use discount code "ASINSIGHT20" for 20% off your subscription.
  • Pixii -- Like many of you, I've tinkered with dozens of GenAI image tools. The results are always just...uncanny valley. Every output seems to require human design work to get the GenAI image to the point of realness (this is why my friend Danny McMillan is working on something that brings a "human in the loop" -- more on that in an upcoming issue). And, that's where Pixii really shines. It's a GenAI design platform that makes the post-generation editing process super easy. My designers love it.
  • CashbackAds -- OK, so this one isn't really a tool. But, if you're spending on TikTok Ads, this will give you 5%(!) cash back. Awesome, right?!

1 Quick Favor

For the second year in a row, I've been nominated for a few Golden Seller Awards.

It's especially humbling because, this year, I didn't nominate myself (can't say the same about last year...).

I have a favor to ask...

If you've ever received value from my writings here in Best@Amazon or on social media, I'd appreciate your vote!

I'm nominated for:

  • Best Consultant
  • Must Follow Content

Thank you all, truly, for your support with these awards, and this entire Best@Amazon side project. I appreciate you.

FRIENDS OF B@A

Seller Sessions

I've written before that my good friend Danny McMillan has been busy in the lab, building all sorts of AI tools for Amazon sellers, and going down various rabbit-holes.

I'll be showcasing some of the things that he's built in a future Best@Amazon issue.

But, until then, if you want to get hand's on learning from Danny (and other smart AI leaders), then good news...

Danny is hosting a one-day AI workshop on December 1 in London!

The workshop itself is worth the ticket price (and travel costs if you're not local to London).

But, I'll sweeten the pot for you...

If you book a ticket in the next 11 days, attend the event, take notes, and then spend an hour debriefing me / showing me the cool stuff you learned, I'll cover the cost of your ticket.

BEST from the Group Chats

In case you missed it, Pattern Group ($PTRN) reported its Q3-2025 earnings earlier this month.

It's a notable event because it was their first 10-Q since going public.

Because of that, and because I'm a finance nerd, I dove in to see how things are going at Pattern.

Some financial highlights from my reading of Pattern's Q3-2025 earnings report:

  • Total revenue hit a record $640 million, up 46% YoY from $439 million, beating consensus estimates of ~$573 million; driven 80% by existing clients, with Amazon comprising 92.6% ($593 million, +45% YoY) and non-Amazon channels growing 81% YoY to $47 million (e.g., Walmart +96%, TikTok Shop +392%).
  • Adjusted EBITDA climbed 88% YoY to $41 million (6.4% margin, +140 bps expansion), reflecting operational leverage from AI tools and scale; however, GAAP net loss widened to $59 million due to $164 million in non-cash IPO-related charges.
  • Net revenue retention (NRR) reached a record 122% (up from 115% YoY), signaling strong wallet share gains and expansions among 300+ CPG/retail brands, with international revenue up 72% YoY to $53 million (Europe +73%, APAC +68%, MENA +222%).

That's all backward looking though. In terms of what's ahead for Pattern, I listened to the earnings call. Here's what jumped out at me:

  • Management projects Q4-2025 revenue of $680-700 million, implying 32-36% YoY growth, fueled by holiday seasonality and continued client expansions across marketplaces.
    • JD Note: This feels aggressive to me.
  • In terms of FY2025 full-year revenue, Management says that Pattern is on track for $2.46-2.48 billion, a 37% YoY increase from 2024, driven by 122% NRR momentum and new brand partner additions in CPG and retail.
    • JD Note: Hard to believe this is true in a year that featured crazy tariff uncertainty, but it is. An astute business analyst would reasonably ask: "But what about profitability?" Well, Management expects adjusted EBITDA of $148-150 million (6.0%).
  • Management is firing up the money incinerator printer, with plans to ramp up spending on AI-driven tech, automation, and go-to-market efforts, supported by $313 million cash and a $150 million undrawn credit facility.
    • JD Note: These are bets that make sense for Pattern (and many other companies), but they need to be managed carefully to avoid being suffocated by them.

That's all well and good. But what did the retail investing crowd think of all of this?

For that answer, I turned to one of my Amazon group chats.

This particular group is...bearish on Pattern. I'm not sure I fully agree, but I'm nevertheless enjoying the discourse. Here are a few of my favorite messages from the group chat:

Love seeing "adjusted" EBITDA celebrated like it's real profit haha

And:

WTF is this Destiny thing? Does this mean that Pattern's secret sauce is…bidding on Amazon ads slightly better than the next guy?

And, my personal favorite (you know who you are if you're reading this):

Buying Pattern is like picking 1995 Bezos over 2025 Bezos

PSA: If you want to get really smart about Rufus, and Amazon's other AI implementations, pay attention to everything that Andrew Bell writes.

My buddy Andrew is a MACHINE, and consumes and notices everything going on.

More importantly, he understands how it all fits together AND what brands/sellers need to do to win in this evolving landscape.

Thanks, Andrew.

This is fantastic. No notes.
