I love observing what the best (or scrappiest) brands do on Amazon and...simply...copying. As a general matter, I would say that all of us in this Best@Amazon community are 1) more attuned to what is going on in the marketplace than the average seller and 2) faster to execute than the average seller. Which means...there's "alpha" in spotting these little hacks and acting early. I've posted about these in the past:
Well, today, I have two more "best of what other brands are doing." And, I'll keep it brief because it's Prime Day/Week. Before I begin...both of these are "gray" in terms of Amazon TOS compliance. But, in each case, they low risk, high reward gambles. Personally, I would replicate... First up...Native Pet.
In case you can see from my tweet, Native Pet added a "Selling Fast" banner to their thumbnails. I just checked, and it's gone now, but it lasted for the first 2 days of Prime Day, and probably generated meaningful lift for the brand. Clever. Next up...Physician's Choice. Take a look at what they've done. That's the face of massive influencer, Alix Earle, on a digitally superimposed hang-tag. Now, Physician's Choice isn't misusing Alix Earle's likeness -- the brand has a legitimate partnership with her. But, the hang tag on the main image, drawing attention to that? ::chef's kiss:: BEST from the Group ChatsWe all know that the "Frequently Returned Item" badge sucks. It kills conversion and it's a pain in the a$$ to get rid of. Well, here's a new, additional reason to dread the FRI badge... Per the wonderful Gracey Ryback, now, Amazon Associates can no longer promote products with the FRI badge: Thanks for flagging this, Gracey. BEST from LinkedInAmazon Japan is:
But, nevertheless, this feature introduction is...interesting. Basically, Amazon launched "Points Deals" which are part of a loyalty rewards system where 1 Point = ¥1. Points function as cash for future purchases and can be stacked through specific, time-sensitive campaigns rather than relying on a traditional universal rewards program. I'm keen to see if this makes its way to Amazon.com... BEST from XFYI, if your brand is having a "meh" Prime Day, there's still time to reallocate your PPC budget to a bet over on Kalshi. The odds shifted a bit since I tweeted about this, but currently, a $10,000 bet on "At least $26 Billion" will pay out $13,272. That's a 1.32x ROAS for all you marketing nerds out there.
